We finally lost Bob Newman

My dad watched J.P. and Bob in the late '50s/early '60s, along with Captain Puget, Stan Boreson and Brakeman Bill! I think Bob was the last Seattle children's host left (besides M.J. McDermott from Ranger Charlie & Roscoe), unless I'm missing somebody. I think all the hosts have passed up to the heavens now. RIP Bob!

Ruth Prins (Wunda Wunda) still with us ... just had her 100th birthday. Bill McLain (Brakeman Bill) I believe is also among the holiday shoppers.

Robin Lee Noll, Ranger Charlie #2, is still alive but living out of the area (actually down here in La La Land with me, somewhere... If I ran into her in the grocery store I'd definitely call her Ranger Charlie). A. Winslow Barger (Roscoe) is still working at KSTW.

I'm of an age that I watched plenty of Ranger Charlie & Roscoe, but pretty much aged out of it by the time it became Roscoe and Ronnie (w/ M.J.).

Heck, I remember when they didn't even have a name for Roscoe ...

As to Gertrude - I was born in the early 80s after they left the air. But for a generation of Seattleites, they grew up with JP and Gertrude. True local celebrities, in a way that will never happen again.
