We need more "Holes In The Wall"

I have seen a lot of complaints about people spending too much time discussing so-called insignificant stations such as WMID, WWDB-AM, WPEN, etc.

We have tried to appease the party poopers by not discussing the "holes in the wall" stations too frequently and look at what has happened. There are fewer posts about anything significant at all.

It has come to the point at which we are posting about talk show hosts/lawyers in other cities for the purpose of creating a "buzz" about the possibility that this person is Mr. Smerconish. (Which of course we know it is not, thanks to Zardoz)

The stations to which the general public listens aren't worth discussing because they don't generate enough interest with the local radio geeks here at Radio-Info, so stations such as B101, WDAS, etc. hardly get mentioned.

The Chico and the No-Men thing was funny for a day or two, but that has passed, and no one cares now.

There is no more battle betwenn WYSP and WMMR, so there is little to discuss there. The WYSP bashing has finally stopped because the shock and dismay of the format switch has finally sunk in and no one gives a damn anymore.

The Hy Lit and The Geator thing was always a topic of interest, but, yep, gone and gone.

Life was much better when everyone complained about WPEN, WMID, etc.

Hopefully someone will take a horrible AM frequency that most people can't hear, throw some oldies on it for six months or so in order for us to have something to talk about again.

I can't take anymore.

Facetiously he said, Hey how 'bout than WNAP. Isn't that a real something. Formerly known back in the day as "One-Eleven-Oh, Nar-ris-town" (Norristown)

Speaking of...Anyone heard anything lately about the 1180 daytimer move-in from central Pa. in King of Prussia? It's been a long time since someone posted that it would be happening "soon".

It's not the holes in the wall that we need man. Its a PD with some cajones. Radio is boring thats why the board is boring. If you notice it's never ABOUT radio when we get into around here it's always a flame war or a fight about person beliefs... Radio is just blaise. It's a medium that is GRASPING at straws for life. Most stations have become nothing more than background noise. The active listening I think is done on Sat Radio and MP3s and CDs and whatever else.

There is no way that Delmarva's WDEL 1150 would allow that to happen.

Oh, and let me slip in a WAMS comment. I can hear them solid from Boeing's Ridley Park parking lot all the way down either I-95 or I-495 to Newark.

As far as I know, Alex Langer is still planning to put WFYL-1180 on from K of P.
Because of problems getting equipment to diplex from WWDB's site, he had to redo his CP and drop power from 2.3 kW directional to 510 watts non directional
from another location using a 75 foot Valcom antenna. He's also been tied up
with WBIX-1060 Natick MA, having to reacquire it after the guy he sold it to, Brad Bleidt, attempted suicide and was later jailed in a swindling case. The $40 million Bleidt swindled was used to buy WBIX....
