That address is for an apartment on W 18th street. I wouldn't send anything to that address guys! The most trustworthy source is the Red Cross.

> I planned to send out some monetary donations over to either my own church, or a christian minded organization, like the Red Cross, The Salvation Army, or Feed The Children. The United Way (NFL's longtime charitable organization) is also a starting point to the road of recovery. I think everybody WILL be heading their way OUT of The Astrodome, and the GRB. The majority of New Orleanians who are staying in Texas, now calls Houston home-for now. As we speak, we are approaching the 4th anniversary of 9/11, and right now, we also need to remember those people who died in the twin towers of New York as well. This is the day America simply wants to move on... Happy Patriots' Day.
Edited by TroyG on 09/08/05 11:14 AM.

11 days later and you are just now sending a donation? Why the delay? I sent money the 2nd day, have voluntereed at my local church with over 200 evacuees, and if I can take off from work this Friday I am headed to Gulf Port, Miss to join in a community effort to rebuild fences.

What the heck??? Is this some sort of sick scam???

WHERE IS THE MODERATOR!!!

> wouldn't send anything to that address guys! The most

That is exactly what I thought when I read his post. SCAM ALERT!!!

If you sent money to this "TroyG" address, you probably fall for Nigerian hoaxes as well. If "TroyG" is really concerned about relief efforts, he would have said "send money to the Red Cross". NOT send money to HIM!

SEND MONEY TO REAL RELIEF ORGANIZATIONS like the Red Cross! I have 50 legitimate, screened phone numbers, addresses, and web links to relief organizations if anybody wants them. Not a one of them is somebody's apartment.

TroyG: You may think you can get away with this scam. You may succeed. But remember - there is a God, and when you die, prepare to ROAST IN HELL. HE is NOT FOOLED, and you will be accountable for money you stole from Katrina victims by duping generously minded people.

DUH! They don't get sicker. I've seen dozens of scams like this in the email. One thing is for sure, if you give to the Red Cross, the money goes where you expect.

> I am TRYING to help these survivors recover what happened on 8/30/05. They NEED the money-NOT ME! As we speak, they are some bogus charitable organizations out there trying to help out these sick people-But you're sending money to the wrong people-and they are spending it for themselves. Always give your money OUT to the REAL Charitable organizations. There is a story coming from Atlanta, As a Homeless New Orleanian and his family traveled all the way to Buckhead, trying to get money from the rich people, He was stopped by the Police, and was arrested for panhandling. For the rest of the story go to www.ajc.com . Also Local 2 Has several reports on Homeless People who sets up bogus charitable organizations trying to milk your money so they CAN start their own lives back again. These stories are reported by troubleshooter Stephen Dean. you might want to go to www.click2houston.com for more.

Re: Don't send anything to this address!

I will point out that NO ONE HAS DONE MORE for the victims of Katrina, than the City of Houston and Harris County. Most of the Radio Stations and their owners have all donated large sums of money to the Red Cross and other organizations associated with helping these victims. Our venues have opened to take in thousands of evacuees. They have been fed, sheltered, and received medical attention where necessary. We have given clothes, cash, and many other things to help out everyone we could. And we will continue to do so.

I don't mean to sound insensitive, but this is a Radio forum. Making pleas on this board is not going to do a whole lot of good. If you need help, you need to contact the Red Cross, Catholic Charities, or a charity that has a good reputation for providing help toward victims.
______________

Buuuush, Buuuush, Buuuush, .... your playlist is getting stale. And I voted for Kerry. I am a Democrat... just not a far-left winged frothing-at-the-mouth nutjob like you. All you do is hurt our party. Thank God Hillary and Bill are developing a moderate base and not acknowledging you freaks.

I also support The United Way, and the MDA-which raised less money because of what is happenening to the victims of Katrina.
