We No Speak Americano now on CHR!

nd2023

Banned
I was DXing tonight and tuned in to 100.5 and heard We No Speak Americano. Then heard an ID for Hot 100.5.

This station in Virginia Beach is really dance friendly! I wish I could hear this station all the time :/

Any other CHRs add this in regular rotation?

Speaking about tropo, I picked up Beach 101.7 from LI (WBEA) and heard "We No Speak Americano".  92.3 Now also has this song on rotation.

Have yet to hear in regular rotation here. I won't be too surprised if AMP Radio picks it up.

I shouldn't say KZON plays it a lot. Memories by Kid Cudi and David Guetta actually plays more and that's not even in it's highest rotation yet.

At first, I really didn't care for this song. Now it's ok. Sounds great on rhythmic radio especially, and even more so on a rhythmic format that plays other dance material. It just gives the format more of that "feel". Maybe some of you understand what exactly I mean.

In response to instigator from the new jersey board, I guess you were wrong.

My point about "No Americano" . Wild is not established. To the casual listener why the hear this sng they will be like"What the F###"" As many peopl that like this track will oppose this track..Get it? This track will hurt this station ..People wll turn the dial..why not play a different dance song?...Are they playing "the Radio" Get Far? That would be a better fit.
If you're gonna jump in the conversation(which is great)..how about answering my other accousations? Like totally lazy imaging..a really bad jock and all remixes and hardly any pure dance tracks? I love dance music and I would love this station to kick ass! Let's face it though ,the normal radio listener wants to hear the original version of songs..instead of a sped up Usher OMG...why not play the original and follow it up with Higer State by Jodie Connor. I even like the remixes...I'm just saying they would be better served to play the originals and add "dance" tracks now until they are established...It's about ratings..right?? Ratings = money. The are having financial difficultes at Atlantic, right? Or do you "No Worko Americano?"

usedupmic....I still say Wild playing this track when it wasn't established was a mistake...Wild was playing virtually all dance remixes of pop and hip hop....to use "americano" as one of the only original dance(not remixed pop) songs was a mistake...Its the kind of song people will love or hate(I can't stand it)...why take the chance of people changing the dial when you are brand new??
I never said this song would not reach CHR...I did say however it will burn fast...and is nothing more than a novelty record..and for the record with all the great dance product out right now it's ashame to see this added to CHR instead of a track like Happiness Alexis Jordan, Higher State Bailey or even Agnes Release me(it was rereleased I know it has been out a while).

The CBS-owned CHRs are all playing it, as are stations like Sirius Hits 1, 103.5 Kiss FM Chicago, 95.1 KHOP Modesto, 104.3 Hit FM El Paso, 97.7 K-Win Stockton, and especially Wild 104 Mcallen (where it's still number one).
CBS stations playing it:
B-96 Chicago
92.3 Now New York
97.1 amp Radio L.A.
Hot 95.7 Houston
Movin 99.7 San Francisco
101.5 Jamz Phoenix

I can see this being a hit for Pitbull. With songs like Shakira's Loca and Mohimbi's Bumpy Ride being pushed to radio in the next month it will be intesting to see how this all plays out.
