I know this song has been in high rotation on these station. KIIS, KAMP, KPWR, and KXOL. Why this song charted well in LA, but not other radio markets?

Reminds me of the rap hit from the late 90's called "Uptown Baby" by Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz. The original version gives shoutouts to the Bronx, NYC etc. However they made a different version for every city, for the reason mentioned. They even made one for my area, Boston. It was funny to hear places like Dorchester and Revere mentioned on the Boston version of the song. Wonder what the LA version sounded like?
It may be due to the title, "We Run L.A."...Simply, different tastes for different markets. LMFAO's "I'm In Miami Trick/B****" didn't last to long here, before they came out with an alternate version, "I'm In L.A. Trick".
They played "We Run LA" briefly on SiriusXM so it got exposure but didn't last too long on Hits 1 either. I had no idea local stations picked it up because Sirius played it almost a year ago.

XHTZ and XMOR played Ya Boy for a while in their playlist. LMFAO also had a custom city edit for Im in DIEGO Trick. Another local city insert was that Pitbull song - KRAZY. Ive heard the Bay Area and San Diego Versions.
and i dont know if you remember but Danger by Blahzay Blahzay used to say local radio station names in their song for each market. "z90" is in the house, oh my god Danger! and in LA "POWER106" is in the house...
