We want MANCOW on Y-100

How about if Y-100 got rid of its Z-100 show from NY and brought in ManCow from Chicago instead.

Mancow isn't heard on any stations in the Sunshine State.

You may have seen him on FNC's morning show.

Yeah, lets get rid off a show that's doing well and is dead on for it's demo and replace it with a show that was failing and is completely out of demo so that a guy out of demo can hear a male talk show on a pop station. Brilliant!

Why don't they just get a local show? Are they searching?

I'm a frequent listener of the Z Morning Zoo on Z100 up here and I love the show and can relate to them, but South Florida and New York are two different worlds!

Not so much so as you might think. I don't call The Magic City "New York South" for nothing. There are so many similarities it's scary sometimes!

You must be kidding, right ? Surely you jest ! Maybe 93-ROCK may be interested in Mancow but I hardly doubt that he's on the Y-100 doppler radar. I admit that I'm not part of the target demo for Y-100 much less Elvis Duran and his 'Zoo Crew'. (I'm probably in Mancow's target demo.) But the fact of the matter is that Y-100 is my favourite radio station aqui en Miami, and the 'Zoo' keeps me smiling (and laughing) early in the morning when I'm at work. If Mancow were on Y-100 in the morning then you can watch the mass exodus of 25-year-old females (and me) from the listening audience ! Hey let's put Rick Dees and the 'Weekly Top 40' on LOVE-94 while we're at it ! :p

Personally, I don't see many similarities. Yes, they're both major cities. But would this make since?

"This is the Z Morning Zoo and boy isn't it cold out today?" says Elvis.

"Yeah, I had to really bundle up this morning," says John.

Then you hear Danielle say, "yeah, it was so cold. Here I am sipping my hot cup of cawfee."

Meanwhile, it is 70 degrees in Miami.

Just a random example. This won't work out forever.

I personally don't care where the hosts are located. I'm not entertained by simple local references. If it's a good show that I can enjoy, that's all I'm concerned with.

There are plenty of similarities... especially for the two stations' target demographic. The same concerts typically roll through, styles usually hit Miami around the same time they hit NYC, the vibe is about as close to identical as one can get, and the two towns practically are identical when it comes to clubs and nightlife. The Arb-measured ethnic compositions are even equally diverse. Miami is very much like New York City.

As for your conversation example... I imagine one of the things they'll keep in mind to avoid is discussions of weather unless the weather events are similar in both cities. And as anyone who's been through day one of a broadcasting course will tell you, even minor discussions about weather are to be avoided like the plague.

First of all, the Zoo talking about how cold it was was OBVIOUSLY a best of segment. It isn't cold in NY now either. Radio-files get bothered by this stuff. 24 year old females dont.
The bottome line is funny, entertaining and relavent to your demo. The Zoo is and Carolina and Froggy have both lived in Miami. There are probably as many New Yorkers in Miami as Puerto Ricans and Cubans. All of which make up the NY audience. I think the show is very well put together and they do enough local stuff for my taste. I'm too busy laughing to care if a DJ is cold. As long as I'm not

It was an example. Of course it's not cold in New York right now. Since you caught that, lets pretend it is November.

I admit, maybe I was wrong about the similarities between Miami and New York. Many many people from New Jersey and New York move to Florida. I guess I was wrong about the differences!

I wonder if I will be the next person from Jersey to move to Florida! Hm, I'll have to think about it!

That is the dumbest idea you can possibly think of! Mancow on 93 Rock sure or better: Big 106 - Paul and Young Ron are getting old anyway.

954 - Look what you've done now. We've made the headlines high atop every page on Radio-Info where different headlines flash across the screen (and make the whole screen jump up and down continuously for some of us).

THANKS A BUNCH !

In the words of Manuel on Fawlty Towers: "Que?"

You know what I'm talking about, right ? The headlines in maroon font colour that appear way up at the top of the screen no matter where you go within the boards on here. There's a whole bunch of them up there that appear for a few seconds. And now your Dolly Parton article has become a flashing headline - 'Waxing WAXY Vintage 1982'.

This Miami board is getting free publicity all throughout Radio-Info !

WELCOME ABOARD NEW PEOPLE !

Dolly Parton sh/b in the subject line. (That's why he called it Parton Me.)

[EDIT] Remember to say cheese!

I'm famous!

BTW, Imagine if I had included Dolly Parton the subject line. (That's why Budell called it Parton Me.)

[EDIT-profanity]

Pronouns

What you censored was a southern expression, consisting of two pronouns, "she" and "it".

On a site that allows discussion of rap music, censoring pronouns is pretty lame.

Am I allowed to say that sucks like a vacuum cleaner?
