Any of you remember WEAS-FM being an AOR station in the early 70's? I came to WEAS in 1971 to do afternoons on the AM (Country). I was also put in charge of the FM. I was told I could do anything I wanted with it because Dee Rivers had just put 4 FM's on the air and didnt care if they made any money for the first two years. I called it "Stereo Rock" and played mostly album cuts. It had a Shaefer automation system with 8 reel to reels. I dont know how long it stayed with this format as I left in September of 1971. I have great memories of Savannah, still the most beautiful town I've lived in. You can find my bio and a great story about my days there at "satisfaction440.com".
