Weather Channel Coverage On Earl

What is everyones thoughts on how The Weather Channel did with coverage during the storm? I feel they did a real good job of covering Earl. Live reports from NC on the storm. Their coverage was the best. I know some people will say negative stuff about TWC when they aired movies and storm stories. But when major weather happens their the place to turn. CNN or FOX News coverage just stinked, sure CNN had the bottom graphic while FOX News had the right side one. While MSNBC covered some of the storm but left most of the weather coverage to sister station The Weather Channel. Your thoughts on coverage of Earl from The Weather Channel....

4 words....National Hurricane Center Center Website

I will never watch these clowns again (TWC, CNN, et.al.) standing on a beach reporting on a storm while the sun is breaking through the clouds.

Yes, I understand that hurricanes are hard to predict, but I really worry about a "boy who cried wolf" scenario now when a significant hurricane strikes the Mid-Atlantic coast.

Bottom line, the whole event was seriously hyped-up for ratings. Next time when they "really mean it" people may nod heed the warnings.

NHC's website provided no-nonsense information and it was dead-on accurate right through the whole event.

It's been a long time since they've shown a movie...

And with Dish Network threatening to drop them, they will think twice about showing "Misery" or "March Of The Penguins" again...

They, and some of the meterologists in Florida....sounded more disappointed that the storm didnt make landfall in the U.S..

Hey..this isn't a snow storm where the kids get to stay home from school..and most suffer minor inconveinences....

However, as the late Paul Harvey was fond of saying..."Noise makes news."

Uh-huh, because the issue at hand could have had nothing to do with license fees. It surely hinged on the occassional movie. ;)

I had to get one of my cars inspected. It's the one that's really old and undependable with poor gas mileage so I took it to a nearby garage. It must have taken 20 minutes because I saw three Weather on the 8s reports. But I thought it seemed like the old Weather Channel was back. The cute girl with the ponytail didn't know where she was, and the sun was out, but the tourists being interviewed intended to obey if the order came.

Al seems to have lost weight.

The music could have been better. Instrumentals are not some cutesy girl singing nonsense syllables every five seconds. And Steve Winwood? Where did THAT come from?

Really surprised that NO ONE on any channel said...."My Name Is Earl"
