Weather Channel Greenlights Another Non-Weather Show

The Weather Channel used to be great. Lately, it has very little weather and show after show after show.. Guess smart phones did them in. It's dead. Even in the morning hours, most of what you get is "Mr. Roker" as Lauer calls him, cracking jokes and making funny.

This topic has been beaten to death. The problem with non-stop weather forecasts is that it doesn't keep people watching long enough. After 5 minutes you know what the weather is and can tune away. I'm not saying I like the shows, but a 30-minute or 60-minute program keeps people tuned in longer. I have noticed that whenever there is a major weather event like a blizzard or hurricane, the shows do get pre-empted by weather coverage, which is a good thing.

The funny thing is this show looks to be a lot better than their others. It's more or better
reality than the storm chasing they have now.

I miss the Weather Channel of the 1990s. You had the WeatherSTAR 4000 for local forecasts, the only specials were of recent events, and best of all, OCM Dave Schwartz!
TWC is no longer watched in our household.

it's time to get a NOAA weather radio at radioshack, The Weather Channel is a Joke, some cable outlets are carrying Accuweather 24/7, in my market there are LOCAL cutaways with a LOCAL weatherman.

I suppose TWC has to find new creative ways to create weather-oriented programming out of ideas that are not really weather laden (e.g. "Weather And A Movie"). But what if they're filming this new "Iron Men" show and there's nothing but clear, sunny days while they're constructing things? Can you say "boring television"?
