Weather Channel- Hurricane Alex Coverage

I know we rag on The Weather Channel quite a bit here on these boards, and with good reason. The endless "Storm Stories", "Wake Up With Al", Movies that have nothing to do with weather (showing movies, period). However, there are still times when TWC gets it right. My TV was on TWC nearly all day yesterday, since I live in the area that was affected by Hurricane Alex. TWC's coverage of the storm was great. It was pretty much "All Alex, All the time" yesterday. I know NBC hated to shell out the money to send Seidel, Cantore & co. to south Texas. In fact, the storm has passed, it's a relatively nice day here in the Rio Grande Valley and Jim Cantore is still on South Padre! (go home already, Jim! ;D)

I guess The Weather Channel figured out what their motus operandi should be after getting threatened to be dropped by Dish Network.

Because if Dish hadn't done some chest thumping as part of normal negotiations they wouldn't have covered Alex at all. ::) Not likely. ;)
