wonder if the se kentucky area london, corbin, somerset will get weather from wlex tv in the future. also warnings from them. I sure hope so
 
i sure hope so.. bill meck and LEX 18 has a really good radar.. i remember the masterson station tornado a few years ago, and the radar on lex 18 had been picking up strong rotation for 20 mins before the national weather service issued the official tornado warning. bill was saying they should get in their safe place way before the official warning was issued.

Good weather information is hard to come by around here. I'm just a little further south than the towns you mentioned...my stations are in Pineville and Middlesboro. However, when we have severe weather, it's sometimes hard for us to cover it on the radio, because we can't get updated information. Only when the weather is effecting Knoxville as well can we get good up-to-the-minute coverage. Otherwise, I have to run out to the airport and use the weather computer there, and call in the info. It's quite frustrating. Do you think the weather in London/Corbin is more like Knoxville or Lexington? They are right in the middle and don't really have weather like either market. I think that's the issue in getting weather from KLEX.
 
I'm a tornado SKYWARN SPOTTER. and id have to say that the lexington stations along with hazard covers london corbin better during severe weather. Id say along with Bell County. Do u own a radio station ??? If so I have a good radar system for u that u might like.
 
Kind of off topic, but here goes...What's a good solution to those stations who are voice tracking, or running syndicated programs all day with no local voice, to do a weather report? This needs to be done! I hate listening to my favorite station and get nothing from them to keep my family and I safe from tornado's and bad weather.
 
I would wish that local tv stations would rebroadcast severe weather onto local radio stations EX. Wayne Hart ABC NEWS 25 in EVILLE rebroadcasts its station's weather coverage over several radio stations calling it severe weather radio network That should be done in all markets. Good solution to a ongoing problem esp. during nights
