Weather Coverage

Wonder if any station will have weather coverage should it get bad. I am guessing not!. Automation systems will be on and the radio people will be at home

If it gets bad in the north central part of the state KFFB will have full coverage. They take weather coverage very seriously and are set up with backup power at studio and transmitter site.

KHPQ in Clinton has staff on duty all night long, as always. I heard Sid King say he'd be there all night long and all morning with updates. They will be live tonight with breaking weather coverage, just as they are during most of the day. KHPQ did a great job during the big tornado a couple of years ago, too. They're on top of it!

Live in Mamuelle but have family in North Central Arkansas and keep up with the weather by listening to KHPQ in Clinton. Something I've been doing since the Titan II missle explosion in Damascus, I believe they won some national award for their coverage. They must be live for a good part of the day.

Sounded to me like you were wrong, as usual. Kix had listeners calling in, all kinds of closings and KNWA's weather guy on all night.

Max Media's teams at Morrilton and Russellville have been there constantly with road conditions and closings. We've also got almost 1600 fans on KCJC's Facebook and almost 1500 on KVOM's Facebook following closings with links to our websites. I can't speak for other radio operators around the state, but we're just not doing our job if we don't stay live and give this important information.

We took listener calls all afternoon yesterday and then gave weather and road reports during last night's Razorback postgame show on KUOA/KAKS in NWA. We had the Mayors of Fayetteville and Rogers, and officials from the county on through the course of the day yesterday, and put fellow radio people on from Tulsa and OKC that could tell us what was coming. With the Tieline system we have, I've also set up a studio at home so we can give out emergency information at any point during the weekend.

So you have The Hog Sportsradio and Clear Channel that are for sure on top of it. I would bet every dime in my bank account that KURM has been on top of Benton County with coverage that meets or exceeds any media outlet in the market. So not everyone is just laying down on the job up here.
