If you need a fresh "voice" to deliver your local forecast, check this out:

They have podcast feeds that could be integrated into an automation system. It's the new generation of robot voice, but it gets the job done if you're short of weather readers, especially nights and weekends!

Certainly no stranger to folks here, ZaraRadio has allowed me to put together a nice sounding weather read. You can use whatever files you want, allowing for humans to read temp drops; just name each one TEMP-xx. With the WeatherWatcher software, which is a nice tool anyway, it's completely unattended weather that sounds live and local (if someone didn't realize you only had .1 watts, at least)!

Rick & Suds on 610 WIOD in Miami once had a humorous taped time and temperature check with "blank spots" for live inserts from their news anchor.

With a Doors slow guitar riff playing in the background, a Jim Morrison imitator sang:

"My name is Jim and I'm dead, but what the heck, here's the Doors with your time and temperature check. Well, the clock says _____, and it's currently _____, and the forecast calls for _____. Have a nice day!"

Chuck Mayer, the news anchor, tried using it once, but he couldn't keep himself from cracking up on the air! -- Jason
