Weather & traffic for wrong market

WIBC is running the Dana show, which originates at their St. Louis sister station. They just had a news person warn listeners about how slick and icy the roads are right now, and giving specifics about I-70 problems. That may be the case in St. Louis but it's totally wrong for Indy. They also did a forecast that didn't apply to Indiana. At times they've even run spots for local St. Louis advertisers on WIBC. The recorded night version of the show sometimes discusses breaking news that's actually old news by then. The Dana show can be entertaining, and it's obvious why they run it, but it seems there should be a way to prevent inaccurate information (for Indy) from airing on an Indianapolis news station.

I remember quite a few years ago being in Grand Rapids and the station din't get the end tone for the Bob and Tom Show. It was all Q-95! Jocks, spots and music. While it can be annoying if it is a regular problem, it gives ammo for the argument that you need board ops.

Today, well over an hour after the white Papal smoke wafted into the Vatican sky, a delayed version of the Dana show is talking about the world waiting to see what color the smoke will be. Shouldn't WIBC pick up live network coverage or do their own local thing to sound relevant while this major story breaks?

To their credit, they DID break away from Dana to air live coverage eventually, but they'd havde sounded more credible if they'd never let the dated Dana show comments on the air.

How much do you want to bet that nobody who works for the cluster ever has the time to tune in 93.1. Just as long as the commericals are ran and nobody calls and complains there are sales to be made. Miss a sale and you will have plenty of time to check out 93.1, just not as an employee!

I'm sure no one is really listening for content. Not enough people around. And those that are working have too many other projects to work on.

I listen to their stream and there is a spot that plays that still has the opening slate on it.

It sounds like a tone didn't fire properly. I doubt it was WIBC's fault. I've seen this happen many times and most of the time it was on the network's end.
