WEATHER

This may be in the wrong page. If it is, please, sorry.
How many of you watch the weather forcast on TV? If you do, which one do you like on which channel.
As for me (37 year old male) I like watch both Dylan Dreyer and Jeremy Reiner from NBC Channel 7
But, the one I like the most is Mike Wankum. He is, by far, one of the BEST in this business. The way he talk, he tell the weather, like if he was a story teller? I mean, is it just me? I love his style. He explains the weather in detail, he break it down the best, and he tell us (who, what, when, where, and how). He's one of the best?

How about you all?

Your thoughts?

Since this is a New England board, you should specify that "this area" is the Boston market.

Previously, Mike Wankum was chief meteorologist on the late Channel 56's THE Ten O Clock News. If Harvey Leonard ever retires at WCVB, I'm sure Mike will get the post.

As for best, I don't watch Channel 7 news/weather at all although I have seen Dylan and she is quite the looker. Don't watch WBZ news much either although I like Barry Burbank. At WCVB, I gotta give it to Harvey with Mike, JC (yet another hottie!) and even David Brown all tied for 2nd.

Matt Noyes on NECN is my favorite. I always liked Mike Wankum on WLVI, but haven't caught him much on WCVB. Plus Tim Kelley on NECN and Barry Burbank on WBZ would round out my list.

I like Dylan as well. My favorite Boston meterologist (even though he is no longer in the market) is Todd Gross. I thought he was the best teaching meterologist. I think I learned more about weather from him than Bruce, Harvey and Dick Albert combined.

I also like Tom Messner at WPTZ (Burlington-Plattsburgh DMA).

I live in the Portland,ME DMA and my favorites are Joe Cupo (WCSH) Roger Griswold (WMTW). Todd Gutner was great when he was with WCSH.

In Hartford/New Haven, I'd go with Geoff Fox of WTIC-TV (FOX) channel 61 of Hartford. He was with WTNH-TV (ABC) channel 8 of New Haven for roughly 27 years before being given the boot. He moved to channel 61 in spring of 2011. The "senior statesmen" in this market are Bruce Deprest of WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 of Hartford (been there since 1984 or so) and Brad Field of WVIT-TV (NBC) channel 30 of New Britain/Hartford (also since the mid-80s).

Joe Cupo is cool. He visted Old Orchard Beach (ME) High School once in 1986. Me and my brother chatted him up about the forecasters in Hartford/New Haven. He even had Hartford's temperature filled in on his New England map that evening! As for Roger Griswold, I remember him being here for a time when WTIC-TV started their 10 PM newscast back in 1989.

Todd Gunter is now at WBZ-TV. You can catch him on the Red Sox pre-game show on NESN.

I'm not sure how it works in the Portland DMA, but in the Providence DMA the weather cut-in during the pregame is from the CH-10 weatherman.

I've also settled in on Channel 5 for weather. In the past some of my Boston favorites were Bruce Schwoegler, Bob Copeland, Dick Albert, and the ledgendary Don Kent.

In the Portland DMA, we get the Boston weather forecast.
