""WeatherNation"...Where Are You?"

It would seem that "WeatherNation," which was supposed to scare The Weather Channel seems to have disappeared from consciousness. Their live stream on their website doesn't work and when you call up their "live" Ustream broadcast, you get a series of the usual D-list informercials for colon blow, prostate rotorooter meds, etc.

They now seem to be more into marketing weather services for web, digital signage. What i love are typos on their website -- "speach" vs. "speech."

Anyone know anything more about these guys? New affiliates?

About 10 years ago there was a start-up weather network that was supposed to compete with the Weather Channel. A friend of mine actually moved down to Atlanta to work with them. Within a year or so the company went belly up. That's about what I expect from WeatherNation.

I wish WeatherNation will be on DIRECTV or Dish Network. When would they will be on DIRECTV and Dish Network?

If you remember a few years ago, Dish Network threatened to drop The Weather Channel after viewer complaints (and even some from Dish's own higher-ups) about the change in programming strategy. Dish was going to launch its own weather channel in response, but pulled the plug on it at the last minute.

I also may think that they don't have enough smart heads together running the channel.

Who in the heck thinks of "Weathernation.net" when the domain "Weathernation.com" hasn't been purchased and used by them as their domain.

WeatherPlus? (Not the NBC variety).

A weather channel showing infomercials instead of the one thing they're supposedly known for... So when did Richard French buy WeatherNation?

The Weather Channel is now useless. I do a lot of photography and I used to use them while vacationing to keep up with the sunny areas of the country. This past October when I'd watch them in the evenings for weather forecasts I'd get nothing but stupid reality programming. It would not bother me a bit if DirectTV dropped them.

Actually, they did launch a weather station that lasted about two days before they signed a new deal with TWC. The current WeatherNation came from that.
