Web Design

My website is a cluster f--- right now. My original idea was to have everything on one page so you can see all of the content at one glance. So now my page is very cluttered, and it's bland. I don't really have a logo or any artwork on the site. It also doesn't display properly on a lot of PC's and different browsers, probably because I use Microsoft Front Page to update/edit it. Bottom line is that I'm going to redo the site.

I asked a friend of a friend (a student at Kent State who goes to school for just this) to give me a quote of what it would cost for a basic no flash site design, logo design, and banner ad design (so I can finally advertise by biz on All Access and others). I was given the quote of $450. Is this good? I really didn't want to go over $300, but to me, $450 is OKAY. I would be very pleased if I could get EXACTLY what I wanted for that price, but this is just a student. I'm not sure that I can get the most for my money here... or can I? Or is $450 such a good deal that I should just take it and put up with the possible imperfections? Your input would be very appriciated!<P ID="signature">______________

Depending on what you want done, $450 is not a bad price, hell I'll do it for that. what is the address of your current site, I'll look at it and see what can be done for you

I doubt it's FrontPage that's the problem. I know, I know... a lot of us computer geeks complain about it's overusage of unnecessary HTML, but if you play around with the program enough, you learn how to keep it from adding all that crap. I use FrontPage for all my designs, and all my pages operate the same (correct) way, cross-platform and cross-browser.

As long as this guy (or gal) is going to work with you comprehensively to get exactly what you want, I'd say $450 is pretty good. You shouldn't have to deal with imperfections that way as it'll be exactly what you envision. Even though this person is a student, I've found that most web design students already have a pretty solid grounding in their field before they even go to school. I'd know... I'm one of them :) As long as you work together to achieve what you want, you shouldn't have any problems, and $450 is a pretty good price.
