Heritage Vermont/upstate NY AAA rock station WEBK has flipped to country. This really sucks!!!!
 
heh tell you how much I know... I ski at killington and okemo almost every weekend and i did not even know there was a rock station there!

errh I hate country! :'(

Hmmm interesting, WOKO in Burlington gets fairly far south; wonder why the switch??? Going up against an established country station is a tough deal, as country listeners usuall stick with the original. Also have flamethrower country station WGNA in albany. Maybe the owners of the VT station feels the rest of the country stations need some competition; that would be good because WGNA sure needs some competition. Way overrated and the morning show is awful.....The Glens falls area is an unrated market also...should be interesting!!!!

WEBK was a non factor before the flip. This at least gives them a fighting chance on the ground in Rutland. Probably will have little effect in the Lebanon area other than to squeeze the WOLF out and make Nassau respond. KIXX is way too entrenched there.

Well valhalla...people in the past on this board have reported that you are an employee of WEQX. If that is the case, I have to take that under advisement concerning your response. Regardless...numbers or not...WEBK like WEQX and WEXT was one of the more interesting and adventurous stations in the region, and it is an unfortunate loss...
 
People can think what they want. WEBK was a truly amazing station back in the day. Jungle Jane and the crew did a really nice job. Now that's going back a ways. The station was in the back of a restuarant or whatever that business was. It added to the eccentricity. You really never knew what song would come next. Once ABC took over it was all downhil for that station.
 
WEXT- Next fm??? "good music knows no format"??? whatta di$a$ter, still they had the stones to try something different ???
