Came into work one night about a half hour early, and I noticed all the day people
were still there at their desks.... They asked me to grab some envelopes and a
pen & pencil, and start writing ! I said writing what ?
It was letters, post cards, and notes to 1360 WSAI radio -- Att: Larry Clark. Frank
explained the concept to me...

Larry Clark ( night jock ) was dropping in LP cuts on his top-40 show each hour
and WEBN was getting nervous about this, and theyw wanted him to stop it ! SO
we the WEBN staff were sending them hundreds of "Fake letters" asking Larry
Clark to stop playing that crap --- album cuts in with his top-40 hits. We sent
them hundreds of these fake letters... Some typed, some hand printed, different
ink colors, you name it, all signed different fake names etc.

Sure enough in a few days; the album cuts on WSAI AM went away. It was all
a scam.. Randy Michaels would be proud.

Now THIS one I believe. Radio has always reacted to the most minute number of comments. After 3 calls in 2 days: "Hey we are getting POUNDED with people who HATE that Madonna cut--I don't care if it's number one in call out, let's pull it".

The real trick is using reverse psychology to get a competitor do do something wrong... "Hey, that morning team is HYSTERICAL! We would listen a lot MORE if they just talked more and didn't play ANY music!"
