If you don't mind, I started this thread to connect with all the radio industry people in the state. If you have a Myspace page or website, post the link in this thread so that we can all connect via internet. A way to see who's who in the state in radio broadcasting. If you know of a persons page, post their links so we can add them as friends (Myspace) or favorites (webpages). Thanks. 8)

WITT FM at 91.9 Zionsville/Indy is forecasting an on-air premier date in summer or
fall of 2008. The website is www.919witt.org.
WITT FM will be central Indiana's first community radio station at 6000 watt of
Effective Radiated Power. The tower is between Lebanon and Zionsville.

95.9 FM... was omitted in this article by the Indianapolis Business Journal about all the recent format flips in Indy.

Because it's not an Indy station, not matter how bad the Byrd-brains want it to be.

It WAS an Indy station before WHHH and IBOC hiss from WFMS were a factor. They played rap based top 40 & were getting better than 5 shares...that was then...this is now. The Little Bird knows more than the Big Byrds seem to be able to grasp. But still, I wish them well...

WFT couldn't make it with a good signal, how in the world is Freedom going to do it with a terrible signal?
What are they thinking?

I have thought that to! How did 95.9 get the programs cleared (99% - minus Mancow) before WFT went Ho Ho Ho-ing?? How about this?? Cumilus gave 95.9 the heads up prior to the announcement. Knowing 959 was struggeling with oldies, and (at the time not knowing what to do with 939), Wheat housed the format there under a under-the-table agreement. This way, WNXT couldn't get the line-up back if they went back to the talk format after the new year.

Just a thought.

I saw a billboard on 86th street for Dave Ramsey's show. That's good, except the station frequency was one of the smallest things on the sign. I could barely read it. If I didn't know to look for the Freedom 95.9 logo, I would have missed entirely.

That, my friend, is a waste of money.

That's a whole 'nother thread about billboard companies and how they take your money and don't even provide a good product. People, at most, have 6 seconds to see, read and understand what is on a billboard. If you are a radio station, make sure those calls and frequency are up there BIG!!!. Often times the billboard companies put what ever the client wants. Sometimes it's like trying to read a novel up there - too many words. Just look at the La Voz De Indiana billboards. WTH?

I must say the Oldies 101.9 billboards are good. They say it all with just the logo. Much better than their "record breaking" promotion billboard.

The TV spots for 101.9 are strange ... until I saw the 101.9 logo, I thought Cumulus had bought the time for 93.9!

Here is a new web site I found for the new 95.9 FM in INDY: http://freedom959.com/
which, BTY, was omitted in this article by the Indianapolis Business Journal about all the recent format flips in Indy.

It was probably the fault of the station's general manager, not the owners. Stations in other parts of southern Indiana like Salem, Washington and Paoli do much better.
