Buffalo’s WEBR Hit With $1 Million Suit By Former Operations Manager.
There's another thread that claimed Chief Operating Officer (another fancy title for this tiny station) Dave Gillen resigned a few months ago. He is accused of "inappropriate touching". It's reasonable to assume that he knew this was coming down and took the exit offramp...Such big titles invoked in that article. Makes that operation sound like a Fortune 500 company.
From the article:
"She is seeking at least $1 million in damages for each of ten causes of action, plus punitive damages, attorney fees, unpaid overtime wages, interest, civil penalties and fines. The defendants have not yet replied to the complaint."
So she's suing for at least 10 MIL? That station was bought in 2020 for 60k!
I don't think the value of the station itself is relevant to the lawsuit. Her lawyers came up with the amount of damages they are seeking. She's making a lot of serious accusations against multiple people at both organizations, but probably won't get anything close to those numbers...Bought for 60K, I don't see how the the station is worth $1 million dollars, but the article also says she worked for the taxi company too. Maybe that's where the money is?
I agree, but when you sue someone, or an entity, how much they are worth is definitely related to how much you can collect. That's why you usually go after the person with deep pockets. I concur, 10 million is probably just wishful thinking.I don't think the value of the station itself is relevant to the lawsuit. Her lawyers came up with the amount of damages they are seeking. The pretty ballz-Zee text with the user idThank you for response. The news story said “Dave Gilien.” That is where the name came from. I don’t know him. You are correct. I should have stopped at innocent until proven guilty. Sometimes people who have done all the things you mentioned make mistakes and sometimes they are falsely accused. The meme was put up because I thought for the size of the station that the title was overblown.I was trying to be funny but what do I know. Not much.

Interestingly, there's a certain very prominent oddball personality still on-air in town, who has created plenty of similar legal exposure over the years for his very large nationwide employer. Amazing no lawsuits ever materialized against the guy.
Would that “prominent oddball personality” that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen have the initials “TB.” I have never met the man but have heaSuch big titles invoked in that article. Makes that operation sound like a Fortune 500 company.
