Hi! I just finished bob Hawkins fm website with a lot of sign offs and I’m running dry on sign offs to post on yt other than my original idea of daytime only stations from now until Christmas.

So you just reuploaded the content from his website without permission? You don't provide a link back to work on the Youtube clips. So all the time and effort he took to edit and archive said audio is now on a YouTube channel you could profit from the ads running on. Be grateful you're not doing that with any of the audio archives I host or maintain.

This is a common problem. I spend several hours a week letting eBay sellers know that they can't make CDs or flash drives with my own site's scanned documents as they did not create the scans. Some get downright nasty, at which point my attorney (and daughter) notifies eBay. At that point, most of them disappear from eBay.

But the idea that "if it is on the web, it is free" prevails.

And that makes it better, how? Even if you gave credit to him, are you actually asking for his permission to post what he worked tirelessly on to record on YT?

There is an old story, likely urban legend, of a bank robber in the "old" west who wrote "Stolen from Wells Fargo" on all the bills he robbed during a holdup. He believed nobody paid attention to money, and he successfully used all the bills. The story came out when banks started noticing the writing on bill that were deposited, and was confirmed in a later arrest.

In any case, the moral of the story is that giving credit to the source of a theft is really not a valid excuse.
