WEBX 935the beat website gone redirects to Q96

what's really going on in C-U since the loss of 107-9...
i thought it was going to be a war between 93-5 and Hot 1055 but soooo was the Beat just a stunt to kill off 107-9?

WSJK -- Stevie Jay Khachaturian. A little vanity there, naming a station after yourself? I guess it's a Champaign tradition, though: WDWS (David W. Stevick) and WHMS (Helen M. Stevick).

About a month or so ago, WEBX 93.5 began simulcasting WQQB Q-96. It was a smart move to expand their signal strength to the south of C-U with the 93.5 signal. So now they are covered north (96.1) and south (93.5). They sound really good as well. So, yes, there is no longer any Hip-Hop wars on the radio in C-U. Hot 105.5 is it. 107.9 is U-Rock, kind of a classic rock-ish sound.

Connect FM begins after Thanksgiving on 93.5 and 95.3...mostly locally-produced talk. Stevie Jay returns to the air in his old DWS hours 7-9 a.m. They've hired some local star power. It'll be interesting. He (Stevie Jay...the owner) is in it to win.
