WEDJ Signal?

I was at 96th & Keystone today & dialed up QMIX 107.3 from Columbus...sounded good there. What didn't sound good was WEDJ 107.1. Their signal was far weaker than WRZQ's (and that's not right)...anyone know if they're having problems? If the lucky soul who takes care of that place these days reads this thread, here's my top 2 list of likely problems...1) Don't use the backup antenna. The feedline or a portion of it is open. 2) The backup transmitter worked fine a couple of years ago...after the short in the output filter was cleared.

I don't remember 107.1's signal as ever having been good. When I lived at 86th and Township Line Rd, I could hear the old WSYW-FM ("Silk 107") on my home stereo, but it cut out on my car radio pretty much everywhere in town. 107.1 and 95.9 were, without question, the worst signals in town.

That station has ALWAYS had a poor signal in Indy, with possibly the exception of the far westside of town.
Back in the WGRT days, attempts were made to move the stick closer to Indy, but Greensburg (107.3) fought it. They finally put up a new 500 foot tower a couple of miles further north of the existing site...while it did improve the signal somewhat, it still never became the Indy station they dreamed of. It covers Hendricks County quite well, and that should have told them something. I'd love to have what the Warshaws spent on that place on equipment and studio moves.

It never set the world on fire, but it should have been far better than WRZQ in Carmel! Looking at their signal now, it's showing a 3.25 where WKLU and Disney are both showing a 4. If there was a problem, it's probably been fixed now.
