Charlie, thanks for the VERY insightful information about HAAT and signal strengths last week. You are right, back in the day it seemed as though the FM dial was not so cluttered with crap. Seems like even in small markets the dial is jammed with too many LPFM's and other wannabe's. What a shame, we can't just limit this and "clean up" the band.
Gulf 104 in Tallahassee used to boom, I recall their antenna was hit/damaged in the 80's, it never seemed to regain the boom and strength after that incident. I remember hearing WPFM 107.9 outside of Ocala one night. Nowadays, that lame classic rock WIND-FM broadcasts on 92.5, 95.5 and you guessed it 107.9.
Good grief, is that really necessary just to cover the Gainesville, Lake City and Ocala Markets? Gimme a break, their ratings are still dismal but yet they hog valuable band with on 3!!?? frequencies.
I do like the punch of WABB and Max 106.7 out of Mobile and Dothan, respectively......
