WEEF moving?

Drove by the WEEF (AM 1430)3-tower array on Aptakistic Rd. today and saw a big sign in front of the towers announcing 23 new single family homes by Jacobs Homes.

Obviously the antennas have to go. Where?

Could they be building around the towers maybe? Or could WEEF diplex of the 1330 Evanston array on Dundee and I-294?

One of the pending applications from last year's AM major change window is to relicense WEEF to Wheeling, IL, with, yes, a diplex on the 1330 Evanston array.

I thought a "for sale" sign had been spotted fairly recently near that site too, though...

That for sale sign has been up there FOREVER. (At least 5 years, anyway... I passed their site every time I drove from Marquette back to Palatine or the reverse)

I've never drove by the WEEF site, but I used to drive by the WKTA site a lot when I used to work in Wheeling. But I thought there was a For Sale sign by the WKTA site as well. As for WKTA, I don't know why that station is licensed to Evanston when the station's night signal doesn't even cover the COL. They're only heard clearly in Northbrook and Wheeling at night clearly on that whimpy 17 watts.
