WEEI back on WKAF (and WAAF?) HD2

After having no HD subchannels on air on WKAF 97.7 or WAAF 107.3 for a number of months, I noticed yesterday that WKAF 99.7 HD2 is back on the air rebroadcasting WEEI.

I can't tell if it's also on WAAF 107.3. I'm not getting them strong enough for HD in Somerville.

Here in Beverly using the portable HD radio:

93.7 WEEI on HD-1, Funkytown on HD-2, very clear, no surprise
97.7 WKAF very strong HD 1 but no HD 2 showing up. Off?
107.3 WAAF does come in (I had trouble with it before) on the HD1 but no HD2, but again I'm
in Beverly and at least I do get the main signal

Is this being done to help WEEI in some areas where the 93.7 isn't as strong?

WKAF coverage map: http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WKAF&service=FM&status=L&hours=U
Transmitter map seems to show it on Great Blue Hill of course

WAAF coverage map http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WAAF&service=FM&status=L&hours=U
Trans loc. I think is Stiles Hill, Boylston...N of I-290, NE of Rt 140 judging by map

Are they mentioning the WAAF/WKAF simulcast on the main WEEI signal?

I happened in right at the top of the hour ID this morning, and once again, the WAAF/WKAF ID was pre-recorded and broadcast over the WEEI 850/93.7 ID, so that someone listening to 850/93.7 would not hear it. It's not mentioned on their web site either from what I can tell, so I wonder how people are supposed to know about the simulcast on WAAF/WKAF unless they happen upon it. I wonder if they will also bring back the WRKO simulcast on the HD3s...that didn't last very long the last time they did it.

They don't mention the HD2 simulcast of WEEI (though I know the rock format on the main station is in promos that WRKO, and probably WEEI, air). On the other hand, CC's WXKS 1200 does mention
that they're on 107.9's HD 2 ("107.9 HD-2, the FM home of Talk 1200"--liner run on 1200)

People probably don't know about the HD simulcast, yes.

If a significant number of listeners in those areas actually had HD receivers, it would certainly help. But as we all know....
