Longtime WEEI-850 Boston sports-talk host Ted Sarandis has announced that he will leave his nightly show.
Sarandis will remain with the station to do play-by-play of Boston College men's basketball games.
Although both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald report that WEEI will fill-in with a "variety of hosts" during Sarandis' 7 P.M.-12 Midnight slot (when live play-by-play coverage of either Red Sox baseball or BC men's basketball games are not being broadcast), I wonder if some or all of that time period might eventually be turned over to syndicated programming from Fox Sports Radio. WEEI already runs FSR overnight, but only picks-up the last two hours (12 Midnight-2 A.M.) of J.T. "The Brick"'s show. The first two hours (10 P.M.-12 Midnight) do not run in Boston. It would be an oportunity for WEEI owner Entercom to cut costs.
