WEEI-FM off air tonight (Sun 9pm) for maintenance

93.7 is off as of now. WEEI: "WEEI station engineers need to do electrical work that will require them to shut down the station at 9 p.m. tonight (Sunday, July 14th)."

I think in yrs past the old WCGY 93.7 and WHDH 850 would shut down on Sun at mid for maintenance...

Odd to power down when people might actually be listening. What happened to 2-5 a.m. as the maintenance window?

One time I listened to 850 WEEI (before the 93.7 switch) and they had an announcement before 3 am saying they were turning off for maintenance. in came KOA 850 Denver.

Given that this isn't a regular occurrence, have you considered that perhaps the electrical work they're doing is so complex and time-consuming that they need to begin at 9 in order to be sure they're back on for the earliest alarm clock listeners on Monday morning?

Wow can't believe I missed this... Was anyone able to get a good signal from Wzmx within Weei's coverage area?

I was able to pick up WZMX (although week) on my Sony walkman in Southern NH. I ID'd it via their webstream as they were playing reggae music at the time.
