Is it me...or does this story actually really expose an anti-WEEI bias?
The guy wasn't an 'EEI employee. According to the Boston Herald report:
"Metro Networks confirmed that Finnerty - who tried out for a weekend host job on WEEI - is an on-air employee who does sports news flashes for WEEI."
So...if my comprehension is correct, he's a Metro Networks employee, subcontracted to do sports reports. He did "try out" for WEEI, but he's not really employed by the station. Kinda like all the different traffic reporters. But I guess seeing "WEEI Guy" is better copy than "Metro Networks." You can bet your backside that if this kid saved the lives of a family by running into a home ablaze, the copy would read:
"Local Radio Employee..."
Funny how the station calls are subjectively employed when the story is negative.
...or perhaps I'm the only one who sees an outdated medium trying to tear down the most immediate communications medium.
Possibly...
