WEEI: Hong Kong Phooey vs. Obama

Good to hear they're talking about vital sports topics on 'EEI; briefly tuned in to Dale Denver, er,
Mikey Adams for a minute or so while Red Sox game was (on 'RKO) in commercials, and heard
them talk about everything from the presidential race to "what's your fave cartoon character?"
Top Cat, Speed Racer, and Hong Kong Phooey were mentioned. (Yeah, I know they can't talk
about sports all the time, and they gotta keep things entertaining! :) And I guess there is a connection
to sports:

--One episode of Top Cat had the gang trying to see a Yankees game through a knothole and TC gets
knocked on the head with a baseball
--Speed Racer: Auto racing! He's a demon on wheels, you know.
--Hong Kong Phooey--does karate chops! Hey that's sports! :)

And it was kinda fun to hear some listeners who were left over from Howie give the Navy Vet and the
Hockey Mom (Hey! SPORTS!!) a boost, while showing little confidence in their challenger...

And of course I'm not complaining. I do love cartoons. What else do I talk about when I call in to
Jordan Rich on "TV Night" like a couple weeks back! Politics, that too. It should be noted that Mr
Schilling, way back, expressed interest in two certain candidates who, as it turned out,
wound up being the party nominees even though it wasn't expected.

Oh, and to further keep this on radio, I would think tomorrow night's Sox game, IF it isn't rained
out, would be on WEEI as the (tentatively scheduled) debate & debate coverage will be on RKO.

... speaking of politics, the Big Show had analysis on the market situation from those top notch economists Fred Smerlas and Steve DeOssie. And that, once again, is why I'm glad there are other stations here that stick to SPORTS.
