I'm wondering, today it is listed that they will have Fox Sports on from Noon to 4 on their website. Do you think (or know) that with the Sox going into Game 7 tonight, will they change that and have maybe Buckley or someone on?

Why should such a highly rated, money making station like WEEI carry any Fox Sports programming at all? Seems like the Fox hosts talk about nothing but college football this time of year, which as Mike Adams would say, nobody around here gives a rat's ass about.

It's time for WEEI to go all local like WFAN and WIP. They'll soon be simulcast on even more stations in New England, but I think even with the 4 stations they have now, they'd be able to do it.

He stole that from Cartman :)

I've thought for years that they should give Jon Wallach an overnight gig. He really does deserve a show, and shouldn't have to settle for a weekend slot once every few weeks.

It's apparent Wolfie and Kaaaaaaaaahn don't know what they are doing.

The Sox have an excellent shot at, again, coming back from a deficit to win the pennant-at home-and go to the World Series.

Hey Jay and Jools...you might want to know this....THIS IS BIG....you may want local programming on....Just a thought.

A post season game at Fenway is big enough, but what is at stake and the fact that if they win, it's another MLB historical game...is monumental .

But it's ok, they'll have Eric Cartman's twin on at 4 so he can drool over Bridget's ex

So now the question is, will they stay local overnight tonight? They did back in '04, even before the 7th game.

Let's hope that those that are up all night long won't be treated to an interview with a southern college football coach, or someone breaking down the Denver/Pittsburgh game.

Well they did go to Fox overnight.... why!?!?! I guess they had more of a budget back in '04, when Meter and Wallach took a couple overnight shifts?

they never ever go with any live local talk opposite a patriots game. must be written into their patriots content agreement with the krafties. plus, most of their bandwagon audience was probably watching the game on tv or listening to gino and gil on the radio, anyway. they'd get 890 audience size if they did local talk vs pats game.

cheapness? Isn't it less expensive to carry JT The Brick overnight? Esp. with a limited audience? If I want sports, I have to listen to that since WWZN carries that doomsday preacher. Steve was talking Red Sox on WBZ last night

personally, id rather listen to fsr than pete sheppard drool all over tom brady.

id rather listen to damn near anything, nails across a chalkboard, a cat in heat...anything besides fred smerlas. he is awful. i couldnt be the only one who feels that way?

Does anybody know whether we'll be able to hear the local announcers during the World Series? Or will we have to listen to the national network?

on the radio? Yep... Castig and Geffner... and I'll tell 'ya, after enduring Buck and McCarver's cliche mongering, it makes me appreciate Geffner much more! Yikes!

I listen to WBCN's post-game Pats show with Tanguay... who is also full of himself but nowhere near as awful as the Smerlas/Sheppard train-wreck

I think only WRKO (or WEEI if it's a Wednesday) can carry the world series games. The normal affiliates won't be able to. I think it's a pretty stupid rule.

not true... ESPN radio (890) will have the games too... Michael Felger has mentioned it on his show. It's with Joe Morgan and Jon Miller. Once again making us all appreciate Glen Geffner!

What I meant was the only station with the local announcers that we're used to hearing will be WRKO.

I believe the usual radio WRKO/WEEI radio network will be up for the World Series. ESPN radio will also have it, which will bring up the usual 'if a tree falls in the forest' questions.

Crap. I was just checking with the station I usually listen to when I'm in Maine, and they tell me they will be carrying the game, but the ESPN feed instead of WEEI/WRKO. It was like pulling teeth to get them to tell me who'd be doing the game...he mentioned Miller, but seem to draw a blank on errr...Joe somebody.

Looks like the Fox b'cast on cable is going to be the only game in town for me if I stay up here for a while.

Regards,
TSB
