WEEI Tweaks Sox Pregame

Usually I don't listen, because a) most of the time I want to hear Howie's last hr instead--7p games, and b)
recep at work is worse than ever now; but one time I did tune in to the expanded 1 hr broadcast
(when it was on WRKO due to Celts game) and they had one segment that was about Sylvania
light bulbs. Yes, they were talking about energy saving light bulbs etc., in a segment that was
obviously influenced by the fact that they're a sponsor. And yes, let 'em make money since
the rights cost so much but a 10 min segment on that?

WBZ-FM may have indeed been a factor, having the listener phone calls--something you don't
usually get on the Red Sox network other than when "we're in a rain delay so let's go to Sox Talk..."

SNY has been experimenting with calls during Mets games. Could be a good gimick if game goes bad quick. I have to admit that I pass on the pregame show for Maz on Sports Hub. I couldn't take them replaying 10-15 minutes of an earlier show to fill time, even if I hadn't heard it that day.
