Weekend Arizona's Family..... Not ready for prime time.

KTVK's translators are currently off the air in Northern Arizona due to electrical storms.
Watching KPHO's Sunday's 5-6 pm news offering. This looks like amateur hour. Hard to
believe that with all the staff they have, they can't do better. One anchor, Emma Lockhart,
Royal Norman doing weather and Julia Lopez on sports. Were it not for Royal, I'd have
changed channels....... Gray should be supporting their less experienced people, not
having them struggle on air.......

I, too, noticed that Emma struggled quite a bit last night. She had been doing a reasonably good job on weekend evenings. Perhaps she just had an "off" night. We all have bad days from time to time.

Watched this Saturday night to see if there were any improvements...
Michael Raimondi on with Emma. He's quite good, smooth but Emma
still faltering... mispronounced "acacia" and stuttered/struggled several times.
Holly Bock on weather, from home. Apparently, she didn't have the ability
to see what graphics were on screen or didn't know how to access them.
Other than Michael Raimondi, still not ready for prime time!

I watched more carefully this weekend and I see Joe's point. Emma does look a bit lost at times during the newscast. In addition, Holly was really uncomfortable from home.

In contrast, the new 12 News weekend evening anchor is pretty good. And I will take Lauren Rainson's forecast over Holly any day.

Today on 3tv at 5pm, Holly Bock was on weather. The time/temp stamp in
the lower right portion of the screen read 75f...... Needless to say that with
near record temps, this was yet another error that should have been spotted
and corrected...... Losing faith in AZ Family.....

I watched the 6:30PM CBS5 version. Didn't notice David's posture. Emma stumbled over a couple of words, but I can't expect perfection.
Something different: Holly speed reading the weather. Has anyone else noticed this? I am an admitted fast talker and need to consciously remind myself to slow down.

Very unusual for me to watch the weekend news but tonight I did and am embarrassed. Holly looked like her tongue covered up her eye teeth and she couldn't see what she was trying to say. Emma flubbed 2 or 3 common words and the whatchimacallit at the bottom of the screen had 'Tucson' spelled 'Tuscon'.
