Past and present, I think we've been lucky here in Phoenix to have some pretty talented Weekend Jocks...

Who are among the best?

I think many on here agree that the list would have to include Lee Bortell, Liz Boyle, Sammy Sherwood from KOOL, Phil Steiner from Mix 96.9, and Eric Valdez from Movin 97.5.

Your thoughts?
 
He's no longer on the air but he's the first one I think of when I think of great weekend talent...

That is a great list of names. All of them are talented in their own right and are fun to listen to.

One of my favorites on your list is Phil Steiner. He has survived in Phoenix radio for quite a long time and has developed into a solid on-air talent. I enjoy listening to him.
 
Thanks! Phil is quite entertaining! Love the witty comments and the callers he incorporates into his show. Definitely a pro with the phoners!

Oh, one more - Can't forget Bruce Artman from KOOL and KSLX weekends!
 
Sammy Sherwood was the best! All time favorite - certainly the most entertaining in my opinion!

Does anyone know how retirement is treating him?

Sammy is enjoying the retired life in Minnesota and doing great.
 
Well, I must say Cedric sounds good on KKFR.. And even though it's not live, I love Nessa during Club Kiss on KZZP. I think Nessa just does a great job overall... but that's just me. I think I recall Jasmine also being a weekend jock on KZON. I guess I don't have to say much more because you can assume if I'm remembering Jasmine, then there must be a reason why. Last but not least, I'll just say that there are also other things Lysa D is great at, so hopefully soon, she'll have the chance to also use and show those talents at the station as well....

There are many other stations I didn't cover, but I'll just leave it at those three for right now.
