Weekend morning News on local stations

So we have channels 2,4,5,7,and channel 9 all doing weekend morning News. What about this? Kttv comes on board with good day la weekend from 5 till 7 am. I think it's a great idea. And feature nfl day picks. And soft News instead of doing hard News. So what does everyone think. I know several years back kttv tried Sunday morning but it got cancelled for an unknown reason.

KCAL doing weekend news at noon has a better chance of launching and being more successful than KTTV's attempt at weekend morning news.

It's not outside the realm of possibility for KTTV to do Good Day L.A. on weekends; they did just did a special Saturday edition this past weekend, due to the crazy weather we've been dealing with lately in Southern California. However, it would be little harder to maintain during football season, as Fox's college and NFL pregame shows would take up a chunk of the time (two hours each) that you would normally have GDLA positioned in. Of course, you could always punt it to KCOP during football season, instead of it being all-informercial hell on weekend mornings...at least make 13 more useful as a station.

KTVU and KCPQ have sister stations KCIU and KJZO also Gray Television has Portland's KPTV and KPDX, they can put Fox Sports pregame shows and Fox News Sunday to their sister stations even if Fox Sports operates in LA. Time zone difference does pose problems but I would be surprised if Fox News Sunday airs at 7pm before The Simpsons if there's an NFL doubleheader
