Weekend pay?

What's the average per hour pay of a weekend jock in seattle? (starting pay) I'm about to have my paperwork go through, and I am not sure what's reasonable to ask. Thanks...

Depends on the station. Expect anywhere from Minimum wage (7.35 if you didn't know what Washington's wage was) to 10-15/hr. Very few at the top end, lots closer to the bottom ;)

Unfortunately it hasn't really kept pace all that well. My first PT gig in Seattle in 1975 was about $14/hour. About 20 years later I was offered ... $14/hour!! I think it's just accepted that no one does this job because they're socking it away to buy one of the San Juan Islands. I always figured if the $$ was covering my gas/parking to get to and stay at the station, it was better than having to PAY for the priviledge of working!!

good luck!

Radio/TV Commercial VOICE Pay

THIS is really where the '$$' is Amigos...

The voice of the FRED MEYER radio spots (produced at Seattle's Entercom)
paid off his $800,000 home's SECOND mortgage within a TWO year period...

..from just THOSE PAYCHECKS!

Don't be disappointed if it's low. Depending on the station (always) it could be closer to minimum wage than you think.

The only money is in weekdays. Unfortunate, but true.

Uh just a couple corrections..Dean Oleson (a personal friend of mine) "the voice of Fred Meyer" is on record as saying that Fred Meyer has made his house payments for 7 years. Not bad for a hour or 2 of work a week. But he is very good at it. Also, the spots are not produced at Entercom. Dean's sessions are at Glen Sound on Dexter across from KING TV. They are then sent to a production house in Portland and mixed there. (The female on most spots with him is Julie something out of LA)
