So, I was out and about this weekend running various errands and what not and i was channel surfing threw the radio... I noticed that some stations have really good weekenders, and other did not...so my question is..which stations do you like that have really good weekenders? which do you NOT like? ....do you think any of the weekenders sound better than the full time staff? .....

Just tryin to start a new topic..change it up a lil...

I think he may have but positive topics have a tendency not to get lots of replies. I think possibly because this isn't a market where there are quite a few weekenders clawing to get full time jobs you may not get the responses. Steve Valentine at B101 is a standout & exceptionally well known for a weekender. I also like Greg Hillier at Coast although I don't always catch him enough to really know when he's on. He's not a liner card reader & has kind of a quirky sense of humor I like. I used to hear him weekending on WXLO. Also Ron Medeiros on Fun 107. I've heard only a little of J-Buff on PRO-FM but he sounds on par with many full timers in the market. As far as weekenders sounding better than full timers it's all a matter of taste but I really don't hear any bad weekenders in Providence & have a feeling many have pretty much settled for permanent weekend work or would have made moves to other markets.

That's why I do not have a full-time gig. When you are good, the full timers are threatened. They CAN'T have that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most places I've worked the full times are happy to have good sounding weekenders or everything goes to hell in a handbasket on the weekend. Anybody who feels threatened is probably persona non grata in the first place.
