I think Tom Leykis would be the best choice. He's would be a local personality. And he can do a show discussing all topics. He's pretty good at that. The only thing is, he no longer can refer to KFWB's new Afternoon Host Dr. Laura Schlessinger as Dr. Turkey Neck anymore. And besides what David@USC said. CBS is paying him. If the station has resolved to not produce news on the weekends, at least provide programming that fits in with a news oriented audience. Emulate, for example, what KGO does on the weekends - they provide specialty programs on travel, foreign affairs, general talk, career coaching, etc. This is very similar to what 790 KABC did in this market a generation ago, and they ruled the AM airwaves back in those days. Some hosts that they could grab include Peter Greenberg (syndicated), John Rothmann (of KGO), Tom Leykis (CBS is still paying him, they might as well use him and he is actually an excellent news/talk host - which is different from the schtik he did on KLSX), etc.
