Another one of those weerd atmospheric mornings for FM this Sunday morning...Howard called me and said our 105.9 WXRG (Gulfport-Biloxi, MS) is booming in overpowering his 105.9 KBZE in Houma-Thibodaux...told him he's probably booming into Lafayette and Lake Charles!
Edited by WeerdWayne on 01/29/06 03:34 PM.

We were getting some heavy skip in Texas this morning too. In Houston, stations to our west from Bay City and Victoria were overpowering our own signals. 106.9 KHPT was destroyed for the better part of an hour by KLUB-FM Victoria, and KHPT runs 100kw from Conroe! (Only 30 miles from Houston, as opposed to Victoria's 150 miles of distance.) Also overpowered was 93.3 KQBU-FM out of Beaumont. It was completely wiped out by KITE-FM from Victoria for well over two hours, coming in like a local Houston station.

Nah, I'm in Lake Charles right now. Big Dog 106 and Country 105.7 are covering up 105.9, but there has been alot of skip today. Stations in Houston are coming in pretty clear.

I worked at KLUB in Victoria a loooong time ago. That station is just 37K I think...it was just 25...I thiiiiink they had a bit of an upgrade sometime in the last decade though. Sometimes we'd have to put the monitors in program instead of air because we were getting trampled in our own city some warm and foggy mornings
