Does anyone out there have an aircheck of WEEX-AM in the early '70's that includes the "Top of The Rock" ID by Tom Tyler, then of WFIL? I'd really like to get hold of it somehow. Thanks all!
The people who would have held on to these would have bee Bill Robbins and M. Haggerty...then you would have had to find a cart machine to play them off of...
hey bob! i have an aircheck on cassette of big john andrews from 1973 on the BIG X! with the id's by big john
himself! i have some of the "lehigh valley hits" surveys from 1977/78 as well.i used the "on top of the rock" line
when i was on WJRH last year.and added "in college hill" with it.i remember tom tyler from his FIL days! and
jim o' brien.
Big John did some of the "extra" ID's, and WEEX continued to use some of them after they stopped using Tylers'. I have lost touch with Bill Robbins; last I knew he was in Alabama. Mickey, of course, has died.
I found a radio spot for WEEX on a website. You might have heard it already. Mickey is at the end of it. I know there are more out there. Isn't is something that the Big X is fondly remembered over any other Lehigh Valley radio station in that time period on Radio Info.
I admit I am biased.
Someone must have that "Top of the Rock" ID. It would be great to hear it.
I have an aircheck from 1970 from the Big X with Dave Marino & Bill Robbins, on this aircheck is the ID a few times. I just have to locate it in the cabinet in the basement. I know its next to the Joe McClaine airchecks on WSAN from the progressive days, when Denny Somach, Lynn Kratz, Mark Goodman, and Bob Ross to name a few. I will start looking for the aircheck.
