WEGO is Spanish Christian

RIP, ESPN Radio.

Why the hell can't WBLO get a decent signal into Winston-Salem? I can't hear that station after sunset anywhere west of Kernersville.

Don't know what you're listening to it on, but I get the Ball all the way in Clemmons. Might be time for a new radio.

During the day, sure. But not at night. And spare me the classic, "must be your radio" line. I am far from the only person that is having this problem. Like I said, I hear it fine during the day but once that station switches to night power, it goes bye bye.

Well, yeah, you're right about the power down. That is too bad, but mostly I listen during the day.

What is it about this market and it's inability to have a decent sports station that EVERYONE can hear, day and night? I shouldn't have to tune to WFAN at night to hear an NFL playoff game when I'm in my car. I don't get it.

Maybe because Charlotte and Raleigh got all the 50,000 watts AM channels?

I go back to "Spanish Christian"? Really? I don't care how many hispanics you see on the street corners, the market ain't there! The big Spanish signal in Charleston (50K FM) got punted down to 2 1K AM signals. Columbia and Greenville are struggling, too. I guess they think the market will come back with the economy and construction.

Something must be terribly wrong. WBLO has an enormous signal and mega power with 26 watts! I can't imagine why a listenable signal doesn't get into Winston Salem, Clemmons, etc. With 26 watts you should be able to pick it up all the way to Boone. IT MUST BE YOUR RADIO! You must be one of those purists who doesn't like to listen to static and several programs all at once. You people are always so hard to please.

Here's the link to their night time coverage map at radio-locator.

Haha! You're exactly right. What was I thinking? My apologies, everyone. :p

In all seriousness, why doesn't someone try an FM sports station in this market, since all the good AM signals are taken?

My take on the whole matter is that no one ever seems to get it right, when it comes to sports radio in this area. You have so many resources from high school, to college and pro sports teams in the area and the whole state. But yet again the programmers rely on national syndicated programming that fade out after a matter of time. Yeah, I know you will say it will cut the costs, but what about the local listeners. They want someone that they can relate to.
