WEGP 1390 Way up in, "The County"..

Has WEGP finally upped the juice to 25kw-D, 10kw-N ? Was driving down from Burlington, and WEGP was splattering all over local WCAT 1390 from Burlington. This was starting to occur about 10 miles south, and WEGP was pretty steady the south I traveled.. I caught the end of Rush and Howie Carr.. Anyone way up there in "The County" want to jump in on this one ?? Thanks. What time is sunset there, 3:00 pm ? ;)

Yep, they made the switch a while back. Sunset is like 4:30 or so this time of year.

An odd coincidence that the original WCAT was also at 1390. Licensed to Orange, Ma it was a 1000 watt daytimer...

Was that where the original WCAT started out on the dial before moving still as a daytimer of 700 AM ? In the case of WEGP way way up there, that signal was pretty potent and getting out there rather well yesterday, considering how close to Burlington it was being heard with a 5000 watt co-channel right there.

Yes...from 1956 until sometime in the 1980s, I believe....

I heard them in East Providence, RI very late at night about three weeks ago.
