WEGP Construction Permit and other related topics

Well Gentleman, seems we need to have a little talk here,The Negativity is a little thick here..lol.. Mainedude, AM was on its way out at one time but with the strides on being made on digital AM technology, we are still better then FM, show me a fm station the can blast into Holland, Germany, Swtizerland, ...Benwnn91 Yes there have been issues in and around Caribou, One of the possibilitys we have been exploring is the Coast Guard Towers broadcasting there signal down that corridor towards the coast, but that being said there are places in Caribou where man made niose is interfering with our signal, I am also going to assume you live in one of those areas, as far as your pfft comment, com'on now, unless you drive a Ford Product, which suprisingly is the only manufacturer that doesn't continue to put decent AM radios in there vehicles, your exagerating just a little bit arent ya, since Ive Driven from Medway to Madawaska checking the signal, I feel pretty confident that I can make that comment and get away with it..lol...also I've got the engineers on site (Phasetek) as we took a power spike or Lightning strike 2 weeks ago,and now have an issue with a power modual, plus straightening out a mess from a former engineer we had to fire (that will remain namless)..So your comment does hold some validity there... With Phasetek we have made great strides in AM broadcasting here in Northern Maine, as far as the comment of nobody listening to syndicated programming sounds like tha wailing of a Liberal to me...lol... Talk Radio IS the # 1 format in the Country and more importantly here in the County, and lets not forget Red Sox Baseball including Spring Training along with the Patriots, Were Doing pretty Darn good Thanks to All our Loyal Listeners and Great advertising value !!! Any Questions about our engineering progress Will gladly be answered by calling me,
Patrick Patterson Gen/Operations mngr here at WEGP 207-762-6700 or [email protected] it also helps us "fine tune" the signal so I will be expecting a phone call from you benwnn91

hi
thanks for clearing this up, instead of a phone call i will utilize this as a way to communicate:

I would have never thought those coast guard towers could do so much damage. Yes, i could have been a little negative with the AM radio in Northern Maine being... ah... dry or some other adj but anyhow I hope I didn't offend you. WEGP has been doing a great job bringing in FOX News radio on the hour and brining in some new "talkers" but I have been concerned w/ the signal and I still don't know if you guys are at full power 25 kw day/10 kw at night. In Caribou where I live the signal is about the same quality as it always has been, recently I went south and tried to listen on my walkman and car radio (not ford) but it was pretty.. hard... for lack of better words at about Monticello. Not even a chance in Houlton. It would be useful, the new signal, for ppl that have one of those AM amplifiers or a powerfull AM ferrite bar in their radios, but for most ppl it's been pretty hard outside those areas, especially in buildings etc.
I remember at Cross Lake it was impossible to listen to Red Sox coverage because it was so staticy, i would have to end up go outside and into my car, but even then that was touchy and humming. I haven't been their since the upgrade hopefully it's better, and basically you guys are the only local AM station, well, it you don't count WFST, which I had problems getting outside of PI let alone with the "Radio-Locator" map said :D It should be known that i could get a trace of them at Cross Lake.

Oh, and by the way, what ever happened to that local morning show you and Fireman Fred did, i was surprised to hear one day that it was gone. It sounded good
