Weigel and Fox team-up for a new movie subchannel

I'm guessing Tribune might carry this on their FOX stations? (Or, just Tribune stations, period?)

I agree that it'd be even better if they showed a block of cancelled/classic FOX shows, maybe overnight or something? Counter program against the movie blocks on Antenna & Cozi by showing a few series in the same time slot.

On those I would agree - Fox owns one station in market, is airing Movies! on Fox O&O, there you go.

I thought maybe you had additional information that I was missing since you were putting Movies! on Fox stations where Fox has duopolies. In those markets, I'm still thinking the MyNetwork station gets the Movies! diginet.

I guess Fox investing in a new movie channel kinda makes their currently existing Fox Movie Channel cable network a bit irrelevant...

^Has the FOX Movie Channel broadcast movies intact (no censorship) and/or without interruptions for advertisements recently?

I think Fox could do well with a classic Fox channel. But I also think Fox has looked at the landscape and seen so many classic channels that they think movies is a better idea with less competition.

Fox already has Fox Movie Channel on cable. I wonder if this new network will show a lot of the same movies.

I think this explains the shift back to the FXM(although all uppercase and probably nothing like the original fXM).

So, I suspect FXM will have newer movies like action movies, guy movies, etc. and competing against TNT, USA and AMC, with commercials, while the digital subchannel will have older movies also with commercials although commercials targeted for people 75+ years old.

I think Bounce TV is a subchannel on some O&O My affiliates

You're going to see this subchannel wind up on several of Fox's My Network TV O&O's due to their dyle tv channels on the Fox O&O's.

Bounce TV is on the O&O My Network station here in Phoenix, along with an SD simulcast of Fox programming for people who aren't able to get the VHF station. I see Fox adding a fourth subchannel to KUTP before I see them adding a second subchannel to KSAZ (plus the M/H feed).

I hope it'll have better stuff on it than This TV. Yeah, they've improved, but most of it is still unimpressive.

If it could be like Fox Movie Channel was in its early days (after fXM), wouldn't be half bad.

I wouldn't look for it in Denver as there's no room to put it (Unless KDVR puts it on 31.3). Heck, we don't even have a place for Bounce TV (And likely won't either)

Plus we still don't have COZI yet.....

Cheers & 73 ;D

Unless the latter is a translator for WTVT 13 in Tampa, FL or WAGA 5 in Atlanta, GA, I don't think Fox owns a station in Gainesville. Plus you forgot that WTTG 5 in Washington DC is also a stand-alone Fox O&O

Cheers & 73 ;D

MyNetwork TV is owned by News Corp (Which also owns Fox) & therefore IIRC doesn't really have O&O's (Though Fox does own a handful of MyNetwork affiliates which will undoubtedly be used in areas where they don't own the Fox affiliate as well. DFW comes to mind here)

Cheers & 73 ;D

Big question is however - Just how many MyNetwork TV stations (Outside of DFW & those which are duopolied with a Fox station) does Fox own though ??

Cheers & 73 ;D

WOGX 51 in Ocala is owned by Fox and serves Gainesville as a partial WOFL satellite, while WDCA 20 in Washington is WTTG's duopoly partner in DC.

With the pending sale of WUTB in Baltimore to Deerfield Media (and subsequent operation by Sinclair), Fox will have no standalone MyNetworkTV stations. Here's a handy list of the Fox-owned duopolies:

New York: WNYW-5 (Fox) and WWOR-9 (My)
Los Angeles: KTTV-11 (Fox) and KCOP-13 (My)
Chicago: WFLD-32 (Fox) and WPWR-50 (My)
Dallas/Fort Worth: KDFW-4 (Fox) and KDFI-27 (My)
Washington: WTTG-5 (Fox) and WDCA-20 (My)
Minneapolis/St. Paul: KMSP-9 (Fox) and WFTC-29 (My)
Houston: KRIV-26 (Fox) and KTXH-20 (My)
Orlando: WOFL-35 (Fox) and WRBW-65 (My)
Phoenix: KSAZ-10 (Fox) and KUTP-45 (My)

Plus, of course, the soon-to-be Fox-owned duopoly (WJZY/WMYT) in Charlotte.

I don't think you're missing much with Cozi. Most of it's public domain stuff.

It's kinda funny that Weigel is involved in this and they also own THIS which would be a direct competitor.

Somehow I think they'll be fine with triple the revenue from the people at the Hurrycane and the catheter suppliers, some of which will go to Fox. :D Plus it allows maybe a little more rotation of This product in a month as it's possible them and Movies! can share a few titles.

I wonder how many people watch THIS. Me-TV is obviously doing better because Neilsen is going to start including it in their ratings this spring (I don't believe they do with This). I wish This could get a hold of some decent drama programming to help supplement some of their movies. So many of them are just....bleck.

I wondered if there would be any sharing. So far, we haven't seen any between Me and This.
