Weird Price is Right contestant

I know this was several days ago, but this guy on the Price is Right made a mockery of the show, treating it like it was nothing. The guy was named Joseph, and he was on Tuesday 5/20's show.

His bids were so off the line, all making a reference to something (1869 for Sigma Nu), and wait till you see what he bids on a cabinet!

This show will not be repeated because of his antics. On at least two message boards, several pages of threads have mentioned him as a disgrace.

About a dozen years back or so, I took a few friends from Minnesota to the different tourist traps in Hollywood. What was #1 on their list? A taping of The Price is Right! It even outranked Disneyland on their priorities. The women, one of them 19, were nearly insane at the thought of seeing Bob Barker in person! I called somebody who knew somebody who was related to somebody who was dating somebody, ad nauseum, and was able to wangle some tickets for that week. It is a hot ticket.

The audience was, well, insane. The women screamed when Bob Barker made his entrance, like it was The Beatles taking the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964. The men were loud and an a party mood. Many college-age types in the crowd.

They had less dignity than the audience at Let's Make a Deal had. Just without the silly costumes.

Not exactly a PBS crowd. My midwest friends still tell me via email that TPIR taping was their highlight of visiting L.A.

I don't get it. ???

Midwest people have some odd obsession over the taping of TV shows. If you ever watch the morning news shows, like Today on NBC, most of the people they interview standing outside are always from places like Iowa and Wisconsin. Must be boring out on the farms!

Must be, ansky212. My Minnesota friends were from farm country near the South Dakota border, far from any large city.
