weird weather / FM reception

I punched the "scan" button on my car radio yesterday and found that some of the east Texas stations (KOOI 106.5 in particular) were coming in almost like local stations, even overriding the Houston stations that can be occasionally heard in the golden triangle.

I suppose it was some sort of weather phenomena. :-\

Yep definitely! It will get better (or worse) as summer gets along..(yea!! I can post again!)

......for example, tuned into KLDE during various times of the evening, and at times can hear KOAI clearly beneath it......must be a strong tropo opening from the north at this time.......

While driving to Louisiana on Friday evening, on 99.1 and 94.5 in between Winnie and Beaumont, both KXKC & KSMB from Lafayette dominated the frequencies. As soon as the digial kicked in, there were the buzz and sunny, just like usual.Steven.
