WELCOME AM 1100 kHz and 6 Towers!

Six towers! Wow! Had no idea it was tonight. Sounds great, even all the way up the hill on Horizon Ridge, where other local AM's have issues. I would GUESS that field strength - here - is about 10mV/m.

There are five applications at the FCC data base.
They have not yet updated the site for CP's.

Engineering: Are you operating on the FCC data base Las Vegas APP for 10kW/1kW,
or the Sunrise Manor APP 50kWday/50kWcritical/10kWnight?

Where are the towers? It would make a great photo! btw Scott Fybush features Black Mountain in his 2007 calendar...

The towers are in North Las Vegas, on a site adjacent to the KSHP 1400/KDOX 1280 tower. It's the Las Vegas CP, not the Sunrise Manor one. Perhaps the new 1100 site will make the 2009 calendar... :)

They are running 20Kw day and 2Kw night directional. Different day and night patterns. Been listening since abput noon yesterday while thinking I was on 1140 on my old analog tuner. They are simulcasting KBAD ESPN Radio 920 for the moment, and heard the TOH include KWWN very quickly squeezed in there. It will be ESPN Deportes from what I've heard very soon.

IT WOULD BE SMART TO MOVE ESPN 920 TO 1100 WITH THE BETTER SIGNAL AND PUT ESPN DEPORTES ON 920

The KWWN signal is now running at half the eventual licencesd power on an FCC Program Test Authority. After a few more measurements it should be up to the full 20 KW days, 2 KW nights. We are temporarily running the ESPN 920 simulcast on 1100 to see what our coverage is going to be like. KWWN has only 4 towers, located on Martin Luther KIng Blvd, about a block and a half south of Cheyenne. I took Scott Fybush to the site just before the NAB last year and he was able to see (and photograph) the site, with the ground system partially in place and before the towers went up.. I'll take himn back out this year to show the final result. Four, 215 foot towers with two for day and all four at night.

I can't even get kxnt in Anthem. They must be using a roof top "rubber duck."

I'm not sure why Limbaugh, Hannity, and Coast to Coast are even on KXNT given that KXNT goes down to 25kW at night, and has significant nulls both day and night.

If I were KDWN, I'd be going after the program syndications with engineering drawings and maps of projected Henderson, NV population growth.

Yes, Anthem isn't a good location at all for KXNT reception. In looking at new open houses on a Sunday, I changed the Radio Intercom system to Bob Brinker's Moneytalk. The static was terrible. South Henderson and Boulder City aren't good either.

Maybe they need to just take the IBOC off that array completely to help to some extent. It's off at night, and I wonder if KOA ever bites into KXNT in some of the fringe areas.

Oh, and my adventure today going in a 2.5 million dollar loft style open house with four floors. Why hold an open house for a 2.5 million dollar house on a Tuesday - vs. Sunday - Their ratings would be better on Sunday, so I have NO IDEA - but I don't understand this town at all. :cool:

The "final" decisions have been made. The new 1100 KWWN will become ESPN radio, the format we are now carrying on 920 KBAD (and temporarily on 1100). The 920 will become Fox sports radio, the format we are now carrying on 1460 KENO. 1460, KENO will become Deportes, Hispanic ESPN. These changes are being made based on coverage of the various signals ito areas of significant population for the target listeners. Look for the changes to happen on Monday march 3rd.
1100 = ESPN
920 = Fox
1460 = Deportes
