Good to hear Ken and Kitty are coming back to the valley. They start
mornings at WODE on July 23rd.

Look at the web site, Michaels is gone....Samantha is gone....You can
bet on it, like Becca and Malone suck, K&K will rock THE HAWK! It's a
done deal.

Malone will go crying to the manager, I'm being pounded, move back
to nights, no pressure. It's like living in mom's basement again.

JIMMY: Michaels and Layne ARE gone. But yesterday when you wrote about K&K coming to the Hawk Michaels and Layne were still on the web site. I checked. However, today at 7:30 am their photos are gone but a tab with their name is still there which links to a blank page. Perhaps the Hawk was taken by suprise by this whole thing. Mmmmmm. I don't know about Ken and Kitty but the Hawks reaction, I think, shows that they were not prepared for a major headache like this.

The question is will they still do the boring things like Immmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmpossible Trivia and those bad voices from Flipper and Mark Ferrarri. I wish them luck but if the carry the same work ethic at the Hawk like they did on Avenue C and just bitch about everyone and everything, this will just be another stop on the tour. I'm surprised Chuck Geiger didn't offer them a gig in Fresno unless he did and they turned it down.

The question is what can morning people do that is creative and not the same old tired routine? Trying to be Stern ect. One thing is definitely news. Commenting on major news stories both hard and soft. And, then play some ELP and Wings. But more talk. Controversy! Bold statements. Shoot from the hip.

Let's not have 'Defend Your Gender', 'Impossible Triva', 'Hollywood News', banal claptrap chatter about what they watched on TV last night, listeners calling in to answer stupid questions such as "What's the most expensive item you ever took from a store without paying for it?"

How about fresher music and lots of it. If they open their mouth, how about something thought provoking or insightful like John Harvey did with his Harvey In The Morning show awhile back on WMGK, with Harvery's Alamanac segments?

How about something for mature, responsible adults, not 40 somethings trying to be 15 year olds?

There has to be a middle ground. Real mature adults probably are in their own world of I-pods and Satellite radio. You have to reach those that are not and hope to draw the others back.

JAustin: Well, it is official then. It should be interesting for the folks they will work with at WODE. In the months leading up to their depature from WCTO, K&K continually compalined about the station, company and market. As a coworker with them at the time, I couldn't agree more wit them about the first two things. Their off air disdain for the market, though, was and is not something we shared. I hope B.S. knows what he is in for with these two.

Korky, i wan't passing any "judgements". Just stating what was on their web site.

Marie from Wind Gap will be very happy to hear this news. anyone remember her? some old lady that used to call Ken and Kitty almost every day and they'd put her on the air when they were at cat country. she'd try to tell dirty jokes and they'd sometimes have to cut her off. hilarious.

Those at WODE will be fortunate to work with Ken Anderson. He's clever, hard working and committed to his show. Even though he was never in management, I considered him a good leader and motivator to the rest of the staff. Look forward to them back in town.
