Welcome back KPOJ to Seattle! 1090 tape delays Air America late afternoon and night...Sept 13+

Welcome KPOJ to Seattle! 1090 KPTK has made a dramatic change away from Air America, with Miller, Hartmann, and Schultz 6a-3p, with Franken, Rhodes, Malloy broadcast as re-runs late afternoons and at night...beginning 9/13/05+

So it looks like those of us who can hear KPOJ in the South Sound area will be tuning into 620 just like we had to EXACTLY one year ago before the national elections...before 1090 was Air America in this market...

It will be upsetting for many listeners, and in my opinion is too much of a change for the new station. Listeners will most certainly complain...

Indeed 620 KPOJ will be the only alternative for the traditional Air America lineup for those of us who can hear it in towns south of Seattle, e.g. Lakewood,Tacoma,Graham,Eatonville,Puyallup,Olympia,Lacey,Tumwater,Centralia...

At any time, any other station with comparable daytime coverage to AM 1090 could get the contracts to broadcast Franken, Rhodes, Garafallo, and Malloy *LIVE* (e.g. 630, 880, 1150, 1250)...

Time for a new Seattle/Tacoma Air America affiliate...

Who is going to listen to Randi Rhodes during the dinner hour on AM 1090?

Can Al Franken compete against the legendary Dave Ross on KIRO 3p-6p?

The eastside and south sound can't hear AM 1090 after 430p in Nov,Dec,Jan due to the pattern change. So we'll listen to Randi on 620.

It's probably time for a new Air America affiliate for this market, offering all shows in their live time slots, including Randi at NOON.

AM 1090 could cancel Air America and offer non-Air America liberal programming e.g. Stephanie Miller, Hartmann, Schultz, Lionel, Colmes, Basham, etc.

From pattern analysis, either 880 (50/10) or 1150 (10/6) would be the be tbe best candidates for the east side and south sound, unless CC's 850 (10kW/1kW) could put more energy towards Seattle and raise nightime power.

Why are you asking me this? I don't know who you by your screen mame. Just use the same screen name on radio-info. Nobody is offended by real or assumed first names in radio stations as long as the poster is polite and respectful in their postings.

> Missed your psychotic rants about Err America.

My goodness...Where? My programming philosophy, expressed consistently on these boards, is for liberal hosts to appeal to centerists and mainstream Democrats, not just the extreme left, so it's not me that you're talking about. LOL! :)

Looks like AM 1090 has just increased in the ratings. We'll see how Hartmann does 9-NOON. Hartmann (and also Ed Schultz) are more to the center than Al Franken, and Air America in general. I think it's a good move for AM 1090, and a way to get conservative listeners and appeal to a wider political demographic than Franken. Someone in the market (e.g. 880, 1150) might grab the Air America hosts and put them on live, since people want to hear Randi Rhodes earlier in the day (not 6p-10p as is true now on AM 1090). Even 880 and 1150 have their drawbacks with signals after dark in some areas in the market (different patterns than 1090), so Randi on some other frequency LIVE NOON-4p would be the best. -T
Edited by this Tom: on 09/29/05 08:57 AM.

I just remember you from the Seattle board. I know it's you 'cause of your
excitement about 1090, and your rants about 1090 becoming KING again. We picked on you and you got upset and left. Keep on ranting!!

AM 1090 / Seattle is *NOT* K-I-N-G. It is KPTK-AM.

I still don't know who you are.

Some of us use these boards in a professional capacity to share information. Whoever is "picking on people" under ever changing screen names on the Seattle board should post elsewhere. That isn't the intention of these forums.

You're not a professional Tom. Put down the bong. Now!

Re: Time for a new Seattle/Tacoma Air America affiliate...

KPTK is possessed by the spirit of KING AM though, which means it will spend 12 years going down the drain from a less than top 10 position!
